Bruna K., Wild Concrete, Founder + Designer
As a child, Bruna recalls making pictures by tracing with her finger through cement construction powder, molding animals with plaster or painting with industrial paint. She always loved to create. Born and raised in Brazil she studied Industrial Design at the University of Brazil. After her move to Canada she knew she could create and was discovering new ideas. In 2016, Bruna explored the uses of concrete in household design, experimenting with plates, trays and plant holders. With encouragement from her friends and family she decided to launch Wild Concrete.
Where did the inspiration for your business stem from?
I was born and raised in Brazil, surrounded by the beauty of wild nature. My years growing up exploring the jungles and beaches of Curitiba has always been an inspiration to me. My designs reflect the texture of stones, the different colours of the ground, the movement of the ocean and the fineness of the sand. Their beauty still captures my attention to this day.
If you have a unique idea and you believe it, then go for it.

What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs?
If you have a unique idea and you believe it, then go for it. Putting yourself out there is a vulnerable thing but rewarding. Do not look at what others are doing but focus on yourself and what you have inside of you. You are unique and what you can make is one of a kind beautiful thing.
Why is community important to you?
Community is everything to me. My community is my people, my support system. It is important to find people that add into your life, challenging you to live an awesome life. Without my husband, family, and friends I would not build Wild Concrete. They are the push and encouragement that I need.
