What is the best part of what you do and why?

Seeing others get joy out of my work! I never know how an idea is going to be received by the public, so when people have an immediate and positive visceral attraction to something that I’ve made, it’s a fascinating experience.

It’s okay to change course. If something isn’t working for you, then don’t be afraid to pivot.

What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs?

It’s okay to change course. If something isn’t working for you, then don’t be afraid to pivot. I have years and years of trying, failing, and pivoting behind me that have helped me land in a place that feels authentic to me as an entrepreneur, maker and designer.

What advice would you give your younger self?

I would tell her to be less impulsive. I was chasing an idea a minute when I first started and these days the word I often repeat to myself is temperance. There are design ideas and opportunities around every corner and it’s a matter of discipline to sift through them thoughtfully and realistically.
